Freedom Flight UK Circumnavigation

Richard Steward's Sailing Blog. Single-handed (64%) anti-clockwise circumnavigation of England, Scotland and Wales via the Caledonian Canal and the Shetland Isles in Freedom Flight, a Freedom 35 cat-rigged ketch with a lifting keel, built for Sir John Oakeley in 1981. I have owned her since 2000. Start date - May 5th 2013 Shotley, Suffolk, return 30th August 2013. Crew - John Eastwood, Neil Rice, Roger Tutt, Matthew Steward. 56 passages 2109 miles, 37 single-handed 1368 miles.

Depart 0530, Arrive 1330.
Wind F6 SE (25Kts most of the way). Averaged 8Kts over ground. Mainly hazy sun.  Off to Inverness tomorrow.
